50 Shades Of Shit Literature
What is the most talked about discussion in a friendship group of girls? Well besides the general stereotype that girls love to talk about clothes and girly things, the one pressing discussion that comes into our day to day conversations is men. What men want, what we want in a man and most importantly, sex.
It's fairly publicised that men have a high sex drive but recently females have started to publicise their sexual ideals, all thanks to three literature volumes. Fifty. Shades. Of. Grey.
So besides increasing the pregnancy rates in 2012, these books also suggested that females could rule the bedroom and promote female empowerment in the usually male domain. These sexual unorthodox and bondage ideas contest all norms of femininity. However, females in current society love to read about good sex tips for the bedroom in our favourite women's magazines.
The books can't really be classed as literature, as they are somewhat poorly written but they got the nation hooked. My Grandma, Auntie, Sister and Cousin were all discussing the books, which was slightly disturbing. The thought of a 79 year old woman gaining sex advice from such a filthy book is disturbing enough, let alone when it is your own Grandma. Anyway, my challenge is to buy and read the books. No matter how much I contest the idea of reading such trash. I love talking and reading about sex as much as the next person but it just isn't in my beliefs to read such trashy sex talk. I'd much rather read classic sex stories that are merged into classic love sonnets and books. Perhaps that is just me. Our generation seem to love this recent craze. Perhaps I am just old before my 19 years of life.
