Alexander McQueen's latest show case of his pre-fall 2013 collection suggested the usual McQueen reigning characteristics. It coincided with the Pre-Fall trend suggestion that the 'black suit' will be a hot discussion point but twisted elements of this idea. The collection is tonal and flashes highlights of red throughout. It maintains a Gothic edge that symbolizes the designs of McQueen and uses contouring to highlight the human form.
Attention is paid to emphasising the use of material, specifically the use of expensive looking fabrics. The first image has an element of 'little red riding hood' surrounding it. The draping of the fabric suggests femininity and almost detaches sexual connotations from the previously minimalistic outfit. The deep red highlights the black undertones and makes it feel expensive, dark and almost evil, in essence.
