Robin Thicke- Blurred Lines
Besides the fact that the video is oh so apparently sexist and mocks the idea of virtuosity and innocence, the video has drawn one thing to my attention. It isn't the men, the lyrics in the song, the nearly naked females... it is Emily Ratajkowski's amazing white boot heels.
WHERE ARE THESE
AMAZING SHOES FROM?
If anyone could tell
me or find a similar pair that would be great!
Besides this
superficial observation, yes the video is somewhat offensive and the original
cut was banned by Youtube as too explicit, however Robin Thicke claimed it was
intended as harmless fun. Feminists worldwide are outraged at this video, yes
the lyrics claim to rebel against women beating and other sexist crimes, but in
itself as an ironic metaphor is being sexist by representing females in such an
explicit and sexual manner.
At no point in the
video do we see a near naked male... but maybe that is just something I would
enjoy myself and not something that would make a huge difference to the video
content. Well, millions have and continue to listen to the sound, so Thicke and
his gang must have done something right!
