Christian Dior S/S 2013

Christian Dior as a designer label, are profoundly noted for the use of overly skinny models. The S/S 2013 collection showcases this but also what a diverse and challenging designer Dior is.

The collection introduces metallics, stripes and sheer/shiny fabrics. It is all about elegance and glamour. Although some of the garments are questionable and very obviously, high fashion and unwearable in day to day life, it is quite apparent that many of the concepts in the Dior collection will be adapted into high street trends.

The high street will see a similar look. The accentuated long dress with a ballerina fitted top and a draping patterned skirt will be very similar and is very much an adapted version of the short ballerina dress we have seen in the high street recently. The fabric, however, makes the dress so iconic and the sheer shine of it is what makes it pop as an elegant and 'out there' dress.
