Mindless Consumption.

Is there a need for the mindless consumption that we surround ourselves with and buy into so freely?  We buy into this ideal lifestyle of owning these unnecessary gadgets and countless amounts of clothing that we in fact do not need.

Who are we trying to impress?  Those around us or ourselves.  We, of course, enjoy flashing our expensive goods, that we more than often don't want or need but have just bought to impress others.   Surely society is a mockery, knowing that people are starving in countries abroad and we own about five pairs of the same jeans and a countless amount of heels (half of which were impulse purchases and we instantly regretted).

Without preaching, maybe we should take a moment to consider what we are buying and whether we in fact need it.  That money could so easily be saved for investment or something more important than the handbag that you 'NEED' now that will be out of fashion when the shops re-stock to match the next seasons trend setting looks.
